Description

Opened in 2005, this football-field-sized memorial designed by American architect Peter Eisenman features 2711 concrete columns resembling sarcophagi that stand in silent tribute across an undulating landscape. Visitors are free to enter the memorial at any point and take their own personal journey through the maze. To gain a deeper understanding of the memorial, visitors should also visit the subterranean Ort der Information, where exhibits will evoke strong emotions. Audio commentary and audio translations of panels are available.
