Since its inception in the early 1990s, KW – a nonprofit housed in an old margarine factory – has been instrumental in transforming the Scheunenviertel into the first major post-Wall art district in Berlin. To this day, it hosts exhibitions that showcase the latest and most provocative developments in contemporary art.
