Description

The renowned early-20th-century artist Käthe Kollwitz (1867–1945) is celebrated in this four-floor exhibition hosted in a 19th-century villa. The exhibit begins with an introduction to the Berlin-based artist, whose socially and politically conscious artwork has earned her much acclaim. Her lithographs, graphics, woodcuts, sculptures, and drawings are all on display, such as her powerful anti-hunger lithography entitled Brot! (Bread!, 1924) and the War series, composed of woodcuts from 1922–23.
