Description
Walking down Karl-Marx-Allee is like being Gulliver in the Land of Brobdingnag. This 2.3km long, 90m-wide GDR-era boulevard, built between 1952 and 1960, is one of Berlin's most impressive places. It was a testament to East German pride, and also served as a backdrop for military parades and provided modern flats for comrades.
