Description

The West Tower of what was once a majestic neo-Romanesque church became the only remnant of it after Allied bombing in 1943. Now functioning as an antiwar memorial, this quiet and dignified reminder of the past is situated in the middle of hum of the surrounding traffic. Visitors to the tower can appreciate its former grandeur through historic photographs on display in the Gedenkhalle (Hall of Remembrance) at the base of it. Nearby, an octagonal hall of worship, built in 1961, features impressive midnight-blue glass walls and a breathtaking sculpture of a 'floating' Jesus.
