On 30 April 1945, Adolf Hitler and Eva Braun, his long-time female companion, ended their lives in a suicide pact shortly after getting married. The scene of their deaths was engulfed in the flames of war, with Soviet tanks advancing ever closer. Now, a parking lot covers the site, obscuring its dark past. The only hint of its history is an information panel with a diagram of the bunker network and construction details, as well as a brief overview of the post-WWII era.
