Description

A tribute to Germany's favorite food

Just as tourists flock to see the Brandenburg Gate, some revel in one of Germany's favorite snacks, curried sausage or "currywurst." Today the Currywurst Museum pays homage to the much loved sausages. Not a national treasure in a true sense, visitors can never the less explore what these morsels are about.

The "Currywurst Museum" celebrates this iconic German dish, which has been nicknamed the "poor man's steak." 800 million currywurst are gobbled each year in Germany - something 1,500 sausages per minute. Add to this number the bratwurst, vienerwurst, and other such treats, and you get a good picture of what German's love to eat.
